Accessibility statement for Frimley Health Career Centre website
The Frimley Health Career Centre website is run by Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. This accessibility statement explains how we ensure that the Frimley Health Career Centre website is usable and accessible to all users. This statement only applies to the Frimley Health Career Centre website and not any other websites that we link to from the Frimley Health Career Centre website.
Help with accessibility
AbilityNet offers advice to people with disabilities on how to make your device easier to use for example, changing the colour contrast, or making text larger in different browsers.
You should be able to make the following adjustments:
- ● Change colours and contrast levels
- ● Zoom in up to 400% without the loss of text on your screen
- ● Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
How accessible this website is
The Frimley Health Career Centre website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. The website has some limitations and whilst we endeavour to ensure the website’s accessibility, we are working with our website developer to address these limitations which are listed below:
1.Text
The text on the website uses plain English principles and has been made as simple as possible to understand and any acronyms used have been explained in full.
The pages that contain text content may not be read out or listened to by a screen reader. We are currently working with our provider into having a screen reader made available.
2.Documents
Our PDFs do not meet accessibility standards – for example, they may not be structured so they’re accessible to a screen reader.
Some of our PDFs are essential to providing our services. For example, we have application forms published as PDFs with information on how to apply for work experience.
Our plan is to either fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages. Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
If you require a document in an alternative format, please contact
fhft.learningandod@nhs.net
3.Images, video and audio content
Images have appropriate alt that explains the information the image conveys. However, since all videos are embedded to webpages via iFrame, you will need to go to the original video platform where the video is hosted to check the accessibility information; for example you can select subtitles by going to the settings cog on the screen and turn on the subtitles.
4.Pop-ups and interactive or flashing content
A scrolling carousel has been applied to display organisation logo on the homepage of the website. You will not be able to stop them by clicking on them or interacting with the surrounding content.
Additionally, a video shall play automatically when you land on the homepage of the website across desktop and tablet devices. The video plays more than 3 seconds but you can change the volume on your own devices.
5.Search and other forms of navigation
The website offers a search bar and navigation categories that break up the content by theme on main pages. Alternative links to the categories are available in the page footer area.
We are currently working on providing other forms of navigation such as site maps.
If you are unable to view the maps on our ‘contact us’ page, please get in touch for directions.
6.Viewing content
The website is usable and accessible when zoomed in or magnified.
If the content, e.g. text is too small or too big for you to read comfortably, you can change the font size by changing your browser settings. Below are the links to change the browser settings:
