Celebrating apprentices

The benefits of apprenticeships were celebrated when Frimley Health held its first ever apprenticeships conference.
The event at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire on 5 February coincided with National Apprenticeships Week and highlighted how apprenticeships can be used to recruit and develop a future workforce.
About 150 people attended, including apprentices, students, trust managers, department leads and partners from the health and education sectors.
At the end of the conference Frimley Health recognised staff who had completed apprenticeships within the last year as well as some of those still learning in their apprenticeships.
The Trust currently has about 200 active apprentices in areas such as business administration, IT software development, nursing associates, occupational therapy and advanced clinical practice.
